Gregory Prior 2012 Outstanding Alumnus of the Year Gregory Prior graduated with a Diploma of Teaching from the Northern Rivers College of Advanced Education (NRCAE) in 1975, and a Master of Education from Southern Cross University in 1996. As Deputy Director-General, Schools, for the NSW Department of Education and Communities, Gregory Prior oversees the implementation of strategic directions and policies in the department's 10 regions, supporting over 750,000 students and more than 78,000 staff, including teachers, school support and regional office staff. Matthew O’Hara 2012 Outstanding Alumnus of the Year Matthew O’Hara graduated with a Bachelor of Business in Club Management in 1998 and is the Chief Executive Officer of Oak Flats Bowling and Recreation Club, an organisation with 75 staff, 11,000 members and an annual turnover of $9 million per year. Jason's career has maintained a steady upward trajectory at the Caloundra RSL Group from his entry level roles in the bar and gaming areas to the position of duty manager, and to his current role as club trainer. Nadine Smith Nadine Smith graduated with a Bachelor of Business in Tourism with 1st Class Honours in 2005. In 2005 Nadine received the Rob Murdoch Memorial Award for Individual Achievement for her outstanding contribution to tourism in the area of product development and research. Glen Hannah Glen Hannah graduated from Southern Cross University in 1994, with a Bachelor of Contemporary Music. Glen currently is Musical Director of the Telstra Road to Discovery, which provides opportunities for talented Australian musicians. Edwina Lloyd 2012 School of Law & Justice Alumnus of the Year Edwina Lloyd graduated with a Bachelor of Laws in 1996. Edwina has established herself as a criminal defence lawyer at the forefront of the struggle to protect juveniles who have been charged with people smuggling. In 2012 Edwina was the instructing solicitor, with Phillip Boulten SC, in a landmark decision which has changed the way the law relating to people smuggling is being dealt with in courtrooms across Australia. Dr Puvan Selvanathan 2012 Southern Cross Business School Alumnus of the Year Dr Selvanathan graduated with an MBA from Southern Cross University in 1999 and with a DBA in 2011. Dr Selvanathan currently works at the United Nations.
